EMPOWERING WOMEN and GIRLS

Our Soroptimist International of Southwest Washington Club is proud to support the Live Your Dream Award, helping women who are the primary financial support for their families as they work toward their education and career goals.

We’ve had the privilege of helping incredible women in our own community move closer to their dreams, and we’re excited to do it again this year!

Applications are open August 1 – November 15.

Know someone who could benefit? Please share and help us spread the word!

Live Your Dream Award

Soroptimist Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women® annually awards about $2.5 million in education grants to about 1,500 women who have overcome enormous personal obstacles including poverty, sex trafficking and domestic violence. Recipients may use the cash grants to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain additional education or training. Award recipients go on to enjoy improved employment prospects, greater earning potential, higher self-esteem, and serve as positive role models for their children. Locally, our club grants at least one $1,000 award each year.

Dream It, Be It

Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls® targets girls who face steep challenges like poverty and unstable home lives. It provides girls with tools to make educated choices and plans for their futures, and gives them hope and confidence. By reaching girls while they are still young, we not only can help them stay healthy and safe in the short term, but we can reduce the number of women in crisis in the future. To date, Dream It, Be It has helped put more than 35,000 girls on a positive path. We are looking forward to bringing the Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls program to our local community.  We are looking to fund this work to help deserving girls on a positive path so their dreams may become reality.

Our regular business meetings are the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:30pm.

Please contact President Jeanne Androvich for location and more details.  We'd love to have you come check out our amazing group!
